Physical Education Clothing
Physical activity is a high national priority in all schools. We encourage our children to be active and have a comprehensive PE curriculum available to the children in our school. As with all curriculum subjects we have high expectations including the use of the correct equipment.
All pupils need clothing for indoor and outdoor Physical Education (PE). This consists of:
- T-shirt in the child’s house colour (blue, green, red or yellow).
- Royal blue/dark blue shorts.
- Navy games skirt (optional).
- Change of footwear (Trainers are most appropriate for outdoor PE).
- Black/Navy jogging bottoms may be worn in winter months for outdoor PE.
PE clothing must be in school from Monday to Friday and taken home at weekends and holidays for washing. If a child does not have the correct clothing then a spare may be provided if we have one available, parents will be informed and expected to provide clothing for the next PE lesson.
For Health and Safety reasons, jewellery is not permitted to be worn during physical activity and has to be removed. This includes earrings which the child will need to remove themselves or come to school without them. Items of jewellery worn for religious reasons may be permitted under certain circumstances following prior discussion with the Headteacher. Children with longer hair (shoulder length or longer) will also be require to have it tied up.
