Watered, no growth yet. 😐
As part of their project named ‘Chocolate’ the children have been studying ‘The Ancient Mayans’ and in particular their system of symbols. Each child has created their own symbol using a foam printing block which they have designed and made themselves. I’m sure you’ll agree, their final printed fabric looks fantastic.
Bonjour! Hallo! Ciao! ¡Hola!
The whole of Delves Junior School has had a wonderful today on our annual European Day as part of our Modern Foreign Languages work. Year 3 have had a great time learning about France and have had a native French teacher working with them today, Year 4 have thoroughly enjoyed finding out about Germany, Year 5 have had a thrilling time finding out about Italy and Year 6 have loved learning about all things Spanish.
Everybody has enjoyed tasting new foods from their country and taking part in all sorts of fun games and activities as part of the day. We were all highly impressed with the outstanding effort children and parents had gone to in creating costumes for children to wear, well done and thank you for all your hard work and support! We’re sure the children have had a super day, so take a look at a few of the photos of the different things that have been happening around school today. Merci, danke, grazie, gracias!
As part of our Year 5 Art Day, we were lucky to have Steve Edwards- a local street artist, to help us to create a huge mural in our school playground. During the day children participated in a range of activities including : collage work ,depicting exploding building in the style of painter Ben Glasson; whole class action paintings, in the style of Jackson Pollack and a large year group installation piece which imitated the work of artist Cornelia Parker. Lots of skills were learned and developed today . Well done Year 5!!!!
